Microsoft Excel does not enforce field types for values during data entry like standard databases do. Therefore, the field type specified in Excel is not used in determining the field type exposed in ArcGIS. Instead, field type in ArcGIS is determined by a scan of the values in the first eight rows for that field.

That would be hard to do as a pivot table does not allow you to filter itself to display no data at all to begin with. You can only filter it to show at least one existing category. That is, unless you change the source data of the PT after setting up that filter.

In the View Options dialog box, check or uncheck the Sheet Tabs option to show or hide sheet tabs in Microsoft Excel window. Excel line chart - no lines. I made an excel line chart for church attendance on Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Thursday night. The markers are there to show the attendance, but there are no connecting lines even though I chose line chart. I have made a line chart before and it did have the lines. It shows the text on the top when the cell has been selected but not in the cell itself. If you double click on the cell and then move off of that cell the text then stays/show up. One other note, this is totally random and not in all cells or spreadsheets. If you suddenly have Excel formulas showing up as text in your Excel worksheet instead of the results of the formulas, there are a couple of common causes. If you fall into one of these buckets it’s a quick fix to get back to normal. I'm having trouble with a cross-sheet reference within the same file. On the second tab named "Disclosures & Identification," there is a set of merged cells at D5:G5 which hold text. On the first tab, there is a reference to that cell.
